ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL

ELECTRICAL

Our electrical service produces documentation and operational designs for new and existing projects across the mining, industrial, commercial and residential sectors. Our focus is the development of simple solutions to
often complex scenarios. Complex scenarios can also involve failing or inadequate systems. We bring to the table a broad toolkit of specialties, from power-loading calculations to full design and documentation for large- scale power and control systems.

LOW VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY SYSTEMS

Fairmont Barkley’s close association with control firms that specialize in process engineering and process control upgrades, means that we can assist clients in project specific power, control panel, control automation and control cabling upgrades, if required. This engineering, design, and fabrication capability augments Fairmont Barkley’s electrical cabling and control automation installation capability, and greatly expands our product and service capability for its’ customers. Specifically, Fairmont Barkley can arrange to have a Power System Analysis conducted prior to required system upgrades, coordinate application calculations, coordinate all electrical system drawings and schematics, coordinate control automation upgrades, and ensure that all upgrades are PE (Professional Engineering) Certified, when required. Control and System Automation upgrades are executed through a crew with over 15 years design experience in control automation upgrades. Affiliate companies are well-versed in conceptualizing and designing cont rol systems for a wide range of industrial processes. All panels are designed to IET Code specifications, and the Electrical Standard of Industrial Machinery. Affiliated companies are well-versed in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming for Allen Bradley, Siemens, Square D, Texas Instruments, and General Electric systems.

ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL DESIGN

You’ll find our electrical design useful for:

 • Electrical schematics and terminations

• Power specifications for LV and HV

• Fault and protection design

• Building services

• Communications.

Our electrical engineers and designers provide system-wide assessments, with a focus on equipment specification. We strive to maximize upfront and ongoing cost and energy efficiencies within the clear guidelines of the IET.
